TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (BP)–When the Florida State Seminoles take the field Sept. 4 in Tallahassee to play the Samford University Bulldogs, they will be without Coach Bobby Bowden for the first time in 35 years.
Although Bowden will be “cheering like mad for Florida State,” he won’t be at the game, the coaching legend told Florida Baptist Witness in a recent telephone interview.
“I’m not going to come to any games this year because I want Jimbo to have the freedom of not having me hanging around,” Bowden said of his successor as head coach of the Seminoles.
